Final Project

A Day In Color

  1. 1) The complimentary colors used in Amanda's fifth composition make for a very eye-catching, visually striking result. The colors bright red and green work together and leap off the page.

    2) In my opinion, the high color contrast used in Amanda's seventh composition lacks a sort of popping quality. While it is a strong composition, the colors don't necessarily make for an eye-catching result.

    3) Amanda is making use of a very liberal diagonal line which runs through her entire seven-piece composition. It is highly pronounced in comps 1-3, then withers a bit in the remaining comps. However, Amanda makes use of an implied line which is evidenced by the tilting ghost figure moving in the same direction as the previous lines, as well as the positioning of the cars on the ferris wheel positioned diagonally.

  3. 1. The most striking picture I would say is the picture of the bike rack. The complimentary colors (red and green) create a contrast that pops out more than the other pictures if you were just flipping through the book.

    2. The least striking page is the third one, when the vibrating edge is used. The vibrating edge and similar colors makes everything seem dull and muddy.

    3. The second and third picture as well as the sixth and seventh flow together so well that they look like they could have been the same picture.
